An End of the Summer Update

Greetings friends and family,

It has been a while since I gave an update on the work that we're doing here at the Tic Tac Toe Ten Project. First and foremost I just want to thank you for the support and love that you all have shown since you've been exposed to the work that we do and the change that we're attempting to make to K-12 educations. As most of you know, this summer we traveled out to Memphis for the National PTA Convention (check the blog post about it here). Shortly after that we hit Chicago to do a week of Tic Tac Toe Ten Days with kids who were in Chicago Public Schools summer school programs. In August we went back to the West Coast to host a couple of community workshops. For these we hit the Mountain View Public Library, East Palo Alto's College Track, Abundant Life Christian Fellowship and last but not least the Mural Music & Arts Program. The kids were very excited to hear from us and asked lots of questions (in addition to playing lots of games of Tic Tac Toe Ten). Questions ranged from "how do I come up with my own game?" to "how does math & science have anything to do with games?" to "what do I need to do if I want to grow up and become an engineer like you?"

All of this served as encouragement for us to keep going on our journey of creating educational gaming environments for kids to exercise their critical thinking skills in. So now that we've refueled a bit, we are focusing on updating the mobile phone apps (iPhone, iPad, & Android), continuing to do tech talks and tournaments at schools, and trying to raise funds for the next season of educational conferences. So with that said, we are asking for your help. We have recently partnered up with our friends at Kickstarter for a 90-day fundraising challenge. Over the next 3 months we are attempting to raise $5,000.00 to help us cover the costs of continuing to create/update products and to help with travel and registration for two educational conferences that we are trying to exhibit at later this year.

So please take a look at our Tic Tac Toe Ten Kickstarter project here --> T10 Kickstarter Project (you can donate as little as $1 and as much as you want). The other way to help besides the monetary donation would be to spread the word in your respective spheres of influence. Feel free to get on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or any other medium that you like to help us spread the word about this 90-day fundraising challenge. Everything that we make will be used for the continuity of our work, which is to aid K-12 learners in their grasp of STEM (science, tech, engineering & math) subjects in school. We hope that you will continue to support us as we move towards our new goal.

Yours Truly,

Brandon, Brian, & Lain

Crowd Sentiment [Memphis, TN]

Here is a short list of clips that we recently compiled while at the 2010 PTA National Convention in Memphis, Tennessee. Our mission as a company going into all of this was to articulate to people that kids can in fact, develop and exercise their critical thinking and problem solving muscles in a fun gaming environment and then translate those experiences into classroom success in technical subjects. We introduced our TicTacToeTen board games, iPad/iPhone apps, t-shirts, and a host of other products and here's what the people had to say about them.

If you don't believe these people above, then check us out for yourself at www.tictactoeten.com or www.facebook.com/tictactoeten . . . then after that you should download our app "Tic Tac Toe Ten" and follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/tictactoeten). Until next time keep on Living, Loving, and Learning.

TicTacToeTen X PTA Convention

It is going to be epic. The TicTacToeTen Project is traveling to Memphis, Tennessee to tell the Parents & Teachers Association chapters of America why educational, collaborative and social games (e.g. TicTacToeTen) need to be integrated into every child's K-12 curriculum. We will talk with heads of educational policy, teachers, parents, fundraisers, students and educational companies to see where opportunities lie for us and for them.

In addition to making contacts, we will be celebrating the release of TicTacToeTen for iPhone/iPad/Android!!! Our mobile application development will serve to complement the work that we are doing with the educational board games. We will also unveil our newly designed website, our new t-shirt design, and our forthcoming puzzle books that will be targeted to 3rd-8th grade kids.

So if you're in Memphis this weekend, come on by the Convention Center to booth #425 and take a picture with the team (and Blanco above). We'll be talking education, tech, and games all weekend long and we'd be honored if you'd come on out and join us. We'll see you there.

Tic Tac Toe Ten for Android is Here!!!

Let me tell you what's better than being interviewed by a Hippie Headband Man. Although very few things can touch the vintage 1974 look that he's rocking in the picture, there is one thing that trumps it. THE RELEASE OF TIC TAC TOE TEN for ANDROID DEVICES!!! You heard it right . . . you may now go to the Android Market and download Tic Tac Toe Ten for a mere $0.99!!! It has been a long journey and we are proud to present it to you. Thank you for your continued support of our project and we wish all of the fans and players worldwide the best. We'll talk to you soon.
